EmetPay Help

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about non-custodial crypto payments with EmetPay: refunds, confirmations, fees, xpub privacy.

What does non-custodial payment acceptance mean?

The money goes straight to your wallet: addresses are derived from your xpub (your public key), and we never see your private keys. All we do is watch the blockchain, confirm payments and send notifications. Stealing or freezing your funds through us is technically impossible.

Which coins are supported?

Bitcoin (BTC) and Litecoin (LTC). We add new networks when there is real demand for them.

Can a payment be refunded?

No. Crypto payments are irreversible, and we never hold the funds, so only the recipient can send money back from their own wallet. The service is built for cases where irreversibility is normal: donations and digital goods.

How long does confirmation take?

Donations: about 20 minutes for BTC (2 confirmations) and about 10 minutes for LTC (4). Orders take a little longer (3 confirmations for BTC, 6 for LTC). The payment shows up immediately with a «confirming» status, while the alert and the webhook are sent once the required depth is reached.

What happens if a donation confirms after the invoice expires?

A late payment is not lost. We keep watching the address for up to 12 hours, and once it confirms, the status becomes «paid late» and both the alert and the webhook are delivered.

What is the fee?

We take no percentage of your payments, the money goes straight to you. The network fee is paid by the sender. The service itself is funded by a flat subscription.

Can the service see my whole wallet?

We store your xpub encrypted and never share it with blockchain data providers. Only the individual addresses issued for specific invoices ever leave our side.
